BOOKINGS & APPOINTMENTS:

You can make an appointment with your doctor by telephoning the surgery during consulting hours.  The reception staff or nurse will triage urgent appointments. The first available doctor will deal with urgent medical problems.  If you cannot keep your appointment, please phone the clinic as soon as possible, so we can make that time available to someone else, otherwise an account may be issued, which is not claimable from Medicare.  Longer appointments are available if necessary please advise reception staff if you think this may be needed.

Our practice encourages patients to utilise the free Translating and Interpreting Service. To book an interpreter please phone 131 450, before your appointment day.

After the surgery has closed, you may ring us and receive a message as to how to contact the after hours doctor.

PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS:
All the doctors at this practice request you make an appointment when you require a repeat prescription. We will have 5 min appointments for only repeat scripts and if you require anything else then you will be required to rebook for a normal appointment. Please make sure you are up to date with your prescriptions.

HOME VISITS:
If you are too sick to come to the surgery, please request a home visit from one of our doctors and we will try to arrange a visit as soon as available.  If this is not possible then the locum service provides home visits after hours.

TELEPHONE CALLS:
Although most problems are best handled via direct consultation, a doctor will always be available during normal surgery hours for emergency advice.

Our experienced reception staff can help you decide whether the matter requires an appointment, a return telephone call from your doctor or urgent attention.

NURSING HOMES HOSTELS AND HOSPITALS:
All doctors at this practice care for patients who are residing in local institutions.  The nursing homes we visit are Cottage Grove, The Vales, Reynella Lodge, Estia Health at Flagstaff and Aberfoyle Park

DISABLED FACILITIES:
There is a disabled car park and a ramp at the front entrance to the surgery for wheelchairs.  Should you have any special needs please do not hesitate to discuss this with your doctor.

PATIENT FEEDBACK:

SURGICAL & OTHER PROCEDURES:
Our services also include, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Removal of cysts, moles, warts and sunspots, Pregnancy Tests, Pap Smears, Breast Examinations, Prostate Examinations and many more.  Asthma, Diabetes and Cardiovascular Management are a major part of our ongoing service along with Age-care Assessments.  Please do not hesitate to ask your doctor whether we offer a particular service or whether you are due for a regular check up.  We also offer cosmetic injections.

RESULTS:
Please make an appointment
with your GP for the results of any test, unless they have agreed that you can ring for the results.  Please do not assume that the Clinic will ring you!

LOCUM MEDICAL OFFICERS:
It is necessary from time to time to employ Medical Staff to cover certain times at the surgery when we are very busy and when the regular doctors are on leave. These doctors are chosen very carefully to continue the high standards of medical care we offer at our clinic.

RECALLS:
A recall system is offered to all our patients for a number of medical reasons. We may inform you that we wish you to be on recall for a particular reason. If you do not wish to receive this service please let us know.  We make use of the National reminder systems for cervical screening, immunisation register, and National Bowel screening program.

MY HEALTH RECORD:
This clinic is registered for My Health Record.  This is the name of the national digital health record system.  Having a My Health Record means your important information like Allergies, medical conditions and treatments, medicine details, test or scan reports can be digitally available in one place.

Health Care Providers like Doctors, Specialist and hospital staff may be able to see it online from anywhere at any time when they need to especially in an accident or emergency.
